Langan is seeking a Senior Licensed Field Engineer to join its collaborative team in New York City. This individual will serve a key function in providing controlled engineering inspections on challenging sites in New York City. As the Resident Engineer, you will be acting as the firm's Senior Licensed Field Engineer - an on-site representative to provide leadership and daily observation of construction work for conformance to project documents and the New York City Building Code. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on premier projects with the city's largest and most well-known developers. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Thorough understanding of construction documents, contractor submittals and contracts;
  • Sound judgment and decision making skills;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with contractors, clients and managers;
  • Ability to attend project construction meetings, as needed;
  • Must be willing to work in the field up to 100% of the time; and
  • Performs other duties as requested.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering;
  • 4+ years of field experience with geotechnical investigations and construction inspection;
  • New York Professional Engineer license required;
  • Good writing skills for comprehensive inspection reports, etc.;
  • Self-motivated and responsible individual;
  • Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment;
  • Availability to work overtime; and
  • Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid NY driver’s license in good standing.

Base Salary Range: $95,000 - $115,000. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.  

In addition, this position is eligible for overtime and participation in the firm's annual bonus and performance review program. Bonuses are discretionary and based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm.
