Job Summary

Langan is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its collaborative team in Parsippany, NJ. This individual will serve a key function in providing accounting services including preparation of journal entries, account analysis, bank reconciliations, assistance with compiling operational financial reports, and daily accounts receivable management. In this role, you will have the opportunity to to gain practical experience working with a dynamic Accoutning team for an engineering consulting firm.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepares monthly account analyses, with a specific focus on reserve analysis for accounts receivable, work in process, legal and prepaid expenses;
  • Assists with processing all appropriate journal entries;
  • Supports the monthly and quarterly closes and financial reporting;
  • Assists with monthly cash reconciliation and with the completion of monthly financial packages, including the accrual income statement and key financial metrics;
  • Assists with the preparation of various financial reports to include the compilation of annual budgets and projections of the balance sheet and income statement;
  • Participates in completing requests to support the annual financial audit, overhead audit, and other external audits as they are scheduled; and
  • Performs other duties as requested.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. CPA and/or MBA a plus;
  • Internship experience in accounting;
  • Understanding of accounting procedures and general knowledge of monthly accounting close procedures, account and bank reconciliations;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook and knowledge of Deltek Vision software preferred;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities; and
  • Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment.

Certain US jurisdictions require Langan to include an estimate of salary or hourly ranges. The estimated range for this role is: $60,000 - $65,000. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, location, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills. Certain roles may be eligible for overtime and participation in the firm's annual bonus and performance review program. Bonuses are discretionary and based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm. Employees are also eligible to receive up to 20 days of paid vacation time, 10 days of paid sick time and 10 paid holidays throughout the year. Eligibility and actual paid time off may vary based on local law and factors such as hours worked, related work experience and level.
