Langan is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Field Engineer to provide geotechnical special inspection on challenging sites in the New York City area. This individual will serve a key function in acting as the firm's on-site representative to provide leadership and daily observation of construction work for conformance to project documents and the New York City Building Code. In this role, the candidate will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic group of engineering professionals on premier projects with the city's largest and most well-known developers.

Job Responsibilities:

• Act as an on-site representative to provide leadership and daily observation of construction work for conformance to project documents and building codes;
• Communicate effectively with contractors, clients, and managers;
• Write comprehensive inspection/observation reports;
• Attend project construction meetings; and
• Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering;
• New York State Professional Engineer license in good standing;
• 5+ years of relevant experience;
• Thorough understanding of construction documents, contractor submittals, and contracts preferred;
• Ability to communicate effectively with contractors, clients and managers;
• Good writing skills for comprehensive inspection reports, etc.;
• Self-motivated and responsible individual;
• Attend project construction meetings, as needed;
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities;
• Possess the ability to work independently as well as in a group;
• Must be willing to work in the field up to 100% of the time;
• Availability to work overtime; and
• Possess reliable transportation for job site work and client meetings and a valid driver’s license in good standing.
