Job Summary

Langan is seeking a Payroll Administrator to join its collaborative team in Parsippany, NJ. This individual will serve a key function in performing all aspects of payroll including management of the payroll cycle and maintenance of related records. In this role, you will have the opportunity to assist with management of completeness and accuracy of payroll including oversight of wage calculations, overtime, and deductions to ensure compliance with federal and state laws and leaves of absence, as well as assist with establishing and revising policies and procedures for the payroll function.

Job Responsibilities

  • Process daily payroll operations to ensure daily and weekly payroll processes are completed for all payrolls both domestically and internationally per the established respective payroll schedules; 
  • Prepares calculation of wages, overtime, and all employee payroll deductions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws;
  • Coordinates with Human Resources department regarding new hire information and employee status changes as a result of promotions, transfers, terminations, and other events that impact the processing of employee payroll;
  • Works with general ledger team on recording of the bi-weekly payroll and payroll account reconciliations;
  • Communicates with ADP customer service regarding payroll system setup and for resolution of issues related to payroll tax filings; manage and track support cases to ensure they are completed and resolved;
  • Provides required salary data and W-2 data requested for the annual tax return filings, R&D tax study and 401(k) audit; and
  • Performs other duties as requested.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, concentration in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting preferred;
  • 5+ years of payroll experience, preferably with an architecture, engineering, or construction organization or professional services firm;
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll processing, tax principles, wage and hour laws by State;
  • Strong proficiency in ADP Payroll, SAP SuccessFactors, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and Adobe Professional;
  • Knowledge of Deltek Vision software;
  • Understanding of code requirements;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities; and
  • Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment.

Certain US jurisdictions require Langan to include an estimate of salary or hourly ranges. The estimated range for this role is: $80,000 - $100,000. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, location, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills. Certain roles may be eligible for overtime and participation in the firm's annual bonus and performance review program. Bonuses are discretionary and based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm. Employees are also eligible to receive up to 20 days of paid vacation time, 10 days of paid sick time and 10 paid holidays throughout the year. Eligibility and actual paid time off may vary based on local law and factors such as hours worked, related work experience and level.
