Job Summary

Langan is seeking an IT Innovation Intern or Co-op to join its collaborative team in Parsippany, NJ. This individual will serve a key function in researching, documenting, and implementing emerging technologies and tools. In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience working with a dynamic team on Information Technology Projects for an engineering consulting firm.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on emerging technologies and tools. Document findings and recommendations for potential implementation;
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement within the company;
  • Assist in various capacities with the implementation of new tools;
  • Manage relationships with hardware and software vendors to ensure effective vetting and selection of new technology for the firm;
  • Create Proofs of Concept (POCs) using apps like Glide, Lovable, or similar programming tools based on user feedback and ideas;
  • Visit construction sites with staff to understand their needs and identify opportunities for automation and AI assistance; and
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications

  • Student actively pursuing a four year or advanced degree in Civil Engineering or related field;
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater preferred;
  • Interest in the exploration and implementation of technology in engineering projects;
  • Ability to work at least 20 hours/week during the fall semester;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
  • Ability to provide an outstanding work product with strong attention to detail;
  • Ability to proactively organize, prioritize, and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment;
  • Excellent communication skills; and
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and dependable.

Certain US jurisdictions require Langan to include an estimate of salary or hourly ranges. The estimated range for this role is: $23 - $30 per hour. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, location, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills. Certain roles may be eligible for overtime and participation in the firm's annual bonus and performance review program. Bonuses are discretionary and based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm. Employees are also eligible to receive up to 20 days of paid vacation time, 10 days of paid sick time and 10 paid holidays throughout the year. Eligibility and actual paid time off may vary based on local law and factors such as hours worked, related work experience and level.
