Job Summary
Langan is seeking a Site / Civil Project Engineer/Manager, with concentration on the integration of artificial intelligence software into the civil engineering process, to join its collaborative, highly technical CAD/AI civil engineering design team in Parsippany, NJ. This individual will do project work in market sectors such as mixed-use development, industrial/distribution, residential development, renewable energy, commercial, healthcare, higher education, office, retail and more. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a passionate, collaborative team of highly technical civil engineers; working with the latest CAD advances and AI design processes within the civil engineering design process, and on exciting and meaningful projects across many different market sectors in the United States and Internationally.
Job Responsibilities
- Participate in project visioning and master planning based upon utilizing 3D modeling software, CAD and AI software platforms;
- Detail oriented design of site layout, grading (including earthwork analysis), drainage, infrastructure, erosion and sediment control, etc. from concept through construction documents incorporating Civil 3D and other software design tools;
- Utilize established company CAD standards for drafting and file management and actively participate in the evolution of future CAD standards, incorporating AI design processes into the civil engineering workflow;
- Participate in developing new clients for the firm and maintain relationships with existing clients;
- Participated in writing and reviewing draft reports, including feasibility studies, storm water management reports, technical specifications, and utility reports;
- Provide expertise in hydrologic/hydraulic analysis and design for storm water management designs including water quantity and quality compliance;
- Work closely with project managers and office leadership to establish the technical approach to project development with an understanding of budget and timeframe requirements to deliver successful results; and
- Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering;
- Valid Professional Engineer license;
- 5-10 years of related site/civil land development experience;
- Highly experienced and self-starter in Site Modeling using:
- Auto CAD-Civil 3D design functions such as working with surfaces, horizontal and vertical alignments, corridors, cross sections, grading objects and feature lines, and;
- Pipe networks incorporating AI in the civil engineering process with programs similar to Bentley's Site Ops software or OpenSite Designer software to develop civil drawings for all phases of the engineering design;
- Knowledge of local city, county and state land use processes and regulations;
- Site/civil experience on a variety of project sites including the ability to design site layout, grading, drainage, infrastructure, erosion and sediment control, etc. from concept through construction documents;
- Working knowledge of Hydroflow Storm, SITEOPS, OpenSite, OpenRoad, ProjectWise desired;
- Experienced in technical and proposal writing;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to interact well with coworkers, clients, and regulatory agencies;
- Participation in professional organizations;
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities; and
- Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment; and
- Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver’s license in good standing.
