Job Summary

Langan is seeking a Human Resources Intern or Co-op to join its collaborative team in New York City. This individual will serve a key function in providing support to the local Human Resources team, assisting with recruiting coordination, employee onboarding, and HR data management. In this role, you will have the opportunity to partner closely with HR leadership and gain valuable insight into Human Resources department functions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support the local Human Resources team through daily tasks and special projects;
  • Assist in orientation and onboarding of new hires including;
  • Collaborate with the HR Manager and Senior HR Generalist to provide recruiting support;
  • Interact with employees and management communicating Human Resource policies, programs, procedures, and government regulations;
  • Maintain office bulletin boards ensuring up-dated federal and state employment law postings; and
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications

  • Actively pursuing Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Psychology, Human Resource Management, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, or coursework relating to HR;
  • High caliber of self-motivation;
  • Superior interpersonal skills and positive demeanor;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently, remain flexible and handle multiple priorities in a fast paced environment;
  • Strong attention to detail and sound judgment capability; and
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.

Certain US jurisdictions require Langan to include an estimate of salary or hourly ranges. The estimated range for this role is: $20 - $23. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, location, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills. Certain roles may be eligible for overtime and participation in the firm's annual bonus and performance review program. Bonuses are discretionary and based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm. Employees are also eligible to receive up to 20 days of paid vacation time, 10 days of paid sick time and 10 paid holidays throughout the year. Eligibility and actual paid time off may vary based on local law and factors such as hours worked, related work experience and level.
