Job Summary
Langan is seeking an intern to join our collaborative Applied Technology team, specifically supporting the Data Management and Analytics (DMA) group. This role can sit in our Parsippany, NJ; New York, NY; Santa Barbara, CA; Miami, FL; Pittsburgh, PA; or Philadelphia, PA office locations. The DMA team supports all disciplines at Langan—primarily environmental—offering exposure to a wide variety of project types and datasets. This individual will support environmental remediation and due diligence projects by assisting with data organization, database loading, quality checks, and the preparation of screening tables and other required deliverables.
This is an excellent opportunity for a student interested in environmental data, analytics, or environmental consulting to gain experience with mentorship from experienced data professionals.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist with prepping tables, charts, and graphs for environmental project deliverables.
- Help review data for the accuracy, completeness and consistency.
- Support the setup, organization, and maintenance of project databases and data management systems.
- Work with data tools such as Microsoft Excel, EarthSoft’s EQuIS and SQL (training provided).
- Collect and configure large datasets to meet project specifications.
- Collaborate with team members on data workflows, automation tools, and reporting needs.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, data science, computer science, geography or a related field;
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater;
- Strong proficiency in in Microsoft Excel;
- Coursework or familiarity with data analytics, databases, dashboards, or GIS preferred;
- Experience or interest in technologies such as Power BI, SQL, R, Tableau, or EQuIS preferred;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities;
- Eagerness to learn, ask questions, and work both independently and collaboratively;
- Ability to work under pressure within tight schedules;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Certain US jurisdictions require Langan to include an estimate of salary or hourly ranges. The estimated range for this role is: $22 - $31. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, location, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills. Certain roles may be eligible for overtime and participation in the firm's annual bonus and performance review program. Bonuses are discretionary and based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm. Employees are also eligible to receive up to 20 days of paid vacation time, 10 days of paid sick time and 10 paid holidays throughout the year. Eligibility and actual paid time off may vary based on local law and factors such as hours worked, related work experience and level.
