Langan International UK is seeking a Technical Director to join its collaborative team in London. This hands-on individual will serve a key function developing new clients for the firm as well as designing land development engineering projects for a wide variety of exciting projects in the area. In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage and mentor a team of multidisciplinary engineers, lead design efforts, and develop and maintain clients for the firm.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work closely with office leadership to develop growth plans and ensure staff utilization;
- Possess an entrepreneurial demeanor and participate in Business Development activities by developing new clients for the firm and maintaining relationships with existing clients;
- Design and oversee design on a variety of projects including layout, grading, drainage, infrastructure, erosion and sediment control, etc. from concept through completion;
- Lead all aspects of land development engineering including the integration of geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering; and
- Provide leadership, mentorship and coaching to a team of technical staff. Responsible for performance management, professional growth and career development of civil personnel;
- Performs other duties as requested.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Master's degree a plus;
- Possess valid Chartered Engineer (CEng) licensure;
- 10+ years experience in related civil land development engineering;
- Proven leadership and ability to function as a seller/doers;
- Knowledge of local land use entitlement processes and regulations;
- Demonstrated expertise in all aspects of land development engineering including the integration of geotechnical and environmental engineering;
- Expertise in stormwater management design, LID and hydrologic/hydraulic analysis and design;
- Experience in technical and proposal writing;
- Strong client development and client management abilities;
- Proficiency of AutoCAD or Civil 3D (preferred);
- Active participation in professional organizations;
- Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment, and to mentor staff engineers;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities; and
- Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver’s license in good standing.
