Job Summary
Langan is seeking a Senior Transport Engineer to join its collaborative team in our London office. This individual will serve a key function in working on traffic & parking studies, master planning studies, traffic event management studies, and traffic signal design and infrastructure projects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to deliver on multiple high-profile and challenging traffic and transportation projects both in the UK and in the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region.
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate and perform the planning, analyses, design and permitting tasks for traffic/transport engineering, land development, master planning, parking and infrastructure projects;
- Deliver on multiple projects within specific schedules, and deadlines. Prepare progress reports and draft change order requests;
- Coordinate and work with staff to determine the feasibility of projects based on the analysis of preliminary data and to prepare and modify reports, specifications, plans, and designs as needed;
- Organise, write, and edit draft proposals, reports, memoranda, and Traffic Impact and Parking studies;
- Participate in the identification and pursuit of new business opportunities, and attend business development meetings to pursue new clients;
- Help guide junior staff on delivering specific project assignments. Coach, train, and motivate junior staff assigned to traffic/transportation, master planning and parking projects;
- Interface and communicate effectively and professionally with clients, contractors, subcontractors, staff, supervisors, and with firm’s other office locations/disciplines; and
- Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s degree preferred);
- Chartered or working towards chartership preferred;
- 4+ years of experience in road, junctions, and transport infrastructure design;
- Experience with AutoCAD and swept path analysis is required;
- Experience with transport modelling and simulation software including Junctions 9/10/11 and LINSIG, and industry standards/guidelines is required;
- Experience with microsimulation modelling software such as VISSIM and Aimsun Next is preferred;
- Experience with Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans and sustainable travel initiatives;
- Experience working on internation projects is preferred;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities;
- Ability to effectively work on multiple projects concurrently;
- Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment; and
- Availability to work Monday through Friday with occasional evenings and weekends.
