Langan is seeking an Environmental Scientist or Geologist to join its collaborative team in Lawrenceville, NJ. This individual will serve a key function in the investigation, remediation and redevelopment of brownfield sites. Work activities will include: performing site investigations including soil borings and monitoring well installations; collecting field data and samples; monitoring construction sites; assisting with environmental due diligence studies; and preparing reports.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist with the planning and execution of field investigations by logging borings, collecting samples, performing field tests and collecting and recording data.  Perform routine and special calculations;
  • Monitor construction projects by taking various tests to evaluate whether the contractor or subcontractor has complied with job specifications;
  • Identify and implement solutions to both routine and more complex field and/or laboratory problems and accurately document results. Communicate with supervisor on any problems encountered on project sites;
  • Prepare reports documenting field investigations and analytical results;
  • Prepare a variety of standard logs and field forms (such as drilling logs, field investigation dailies, and chain of custody logs); and
  • Perform other duties as requested.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Environmental Science;
  • 0-2 years of work related experience;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities;
  • Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment; and
  • Possess reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license in good standing.
